KITAP Bali — Permanent Stay Permit (ITAP) for Long-Term Residents of Indonesia
KITAP (Kartu Izin Tinggal Tetap) — also called ITAP (Izin Tinggal Tetap) — is Indonesia’s Permanent Stay Permit. It is the highest level of long-term residency available to foreigners, offering unrestricted residence in Indonesia without an annual renewal requirement.
Who Can Apply for KITAP / ITAP?
KITAP eligibility is based on the type of KITAS you have held and the duration of continuous legal residence:
- Spouse KITAS holders: Eligible after 2 continuous years of Spouse KITAS
- Investor / Work / Retirement KITAS holders: Eligible after 5 continuous years of the same KITAS category
- Former Indonesian citizens: Special provisions may apply
- Must have no serious criminal record and demonstrate integration into Indonesian society
Key Benefits of KITAP
- 5-year validity: Renewable every 5 years (no annual renewal like KITAS)
- Unrestricted residence: Live in Indonesia without a time-limited stay permit
- No sponsor required: KITAP holders self-sponsor their residency
- Work flexibility: Investor and Spouse KITAP holders retain work eligibility equivalent to their previous KITAS category
- Family: Spouse and children may qualify for derivative permits
